Keith, I read the memorial in the paper and am sending my condolences to you and your family. When you take on the role of dog handler it is a family affair. I was so happy when you both did so well at the dog trials. This article is going in my scrapbook of events in our lives. Take care MARGIE

We sure had some wild fun over the years and there are many stories that could be told and losing a partner sure tears a hole in your soul. He now in a better place along with all other K-9 from our dept who have gone before us and he will always be patrolling in a better place.

Keith, so deeply sorry to hear of your great loss
I can only imagine it feels like losing one of your arms--except worse.
He was so beautiful and had a wonderful grin. I will always remember that vicious police dog with his love for fluffy stuffed toys! It never ceased to make me smile to see him, in all his glory, proudly trot around with a stuffed drooled-over manky eyeless stuffed little bear.
Thor will be forever loved, rest assured.
Take care and thinking of you both during this difficult time.

There's no better friend! |
August 10, 2011 |
So sorry to hear of Thor's passing. I love dogs and have had dogs all my life-still do. Sometimes there's a dog that holds a special place in our hearts. We lost our yellow Lab 51/2 yrs. ago and miss him dearly. His picture is our screen saver. We were lucky enough to have him for 11 1/2 yrs. I now have a Mini Schnauzer who is a sweet little girl. She is a pet therapy dog at the SJRH and a local Nursing Home. Thor certainly was a great dog,I remember reading about him from time to time. Hang on to your memories and best of luck.

Beautifull Dog Thor |

Dear Keith
We were very sorry to hear of the loss of your friend, companion & partner Thor. We had the pleasure of meeting him & he is so gentle but knew when he had a job to do & got it done . His
stories & awards are proof of that. I will be sure to let Bobby know about Thor as he always talked
about him & all your beautifull dogs. May he rest in peace in doggy heaven & enjoy the crown of
glory. We loved the photo gallery he had a great life & was spoiled & well deserved to be pampered.
Take care Keith & family
Love & the best to you & your doggie pals.

Rest in Peace Thor |

So sorry for you loss Const. Copeland. I never had the opportunity to meet Thor, but I did see him at times in the cruiser and thought what a gorgeous, smart and courageous dog. I'm an animal lover especially of dogs and would have loved to have meant Thor. The two of you were lucky to have one another. I do agree with the person who suggested Thor deserves a book, he was definetly a benefit to the police department and the community. May he rest in peace.

It is hard to believe how painful it is to lose a dog. You and your family have my deepest sympathies Thor is a handsome, heroic dog who deserves a book and after reading your history and memories, I know it would be a treasure for you and treasured by readers. Just a thought.

Tribute to a Best Friend |
August 9, 2011 |
Dear Keith:
We know the pain of losing a "best friend" and were fortunate to have Paul & Linda Dupuis take care of our precious "Abbi" upon her passing. The following verse has given us great comfort and hopefully will do so for you and your beloved Thor.
Sunlight streams through a window pane unto a spot on the floor.... then I remember it's where you used to lie, but now you are no more. Our feet walk down a hall of carpet, and muted echoes sound.... then I remember, it's where your paws would joyously abound. A voice is heard along the road, and up beyond the hill, then I remember it can't be yours.... your golden voice is still. But I'll take that vacant spot of floor and empty muted hall and lay them with the absent voice and unused dish along the wall. I'll wrap these treasured memorials in a blanket of my love and keep them for my best friend until we meet above.
